Peanut Butter and Jelly

I just finished making Ryan, Emma and Avery's school lunches for tomorrow. The girls have "lunch bunch" tomorrow so they stay an extra hour in preschool and eat lunch with their classmates.

There are moments when I look down at what I am doing and think, "How weird are my kids?!?"

I have one (Ryan) that will only eat peanut butter, so I make him a peanut butter sandwich. I have another (Emma) that is the only reasonable one and eats peanut butter AND jelly. And then you have the really strange one (Avery) who will only eat jelly on her sandwich. Strange! Who eats only jelly on their sandwich!!!

Anyway, there you have it... I make three different kind of sandwiches for my children.

And...Today Eden turned 7 months old! My baby is not so much of a baby anymore. I will get the 7 month pictures posted of her tomorrow (hopefully)!

Weekend update

The last few days we have been taking turns exchanging the stomach virus that seems to be running rampant around Lexington. First me, then Emma, then Ryan, Michael, and finally Eden. Somehow Avery missed out on the fun. So, we haven't been up to much of anything the last few days.

This weekend however, was a busy one. Saturday in particular. Michael and Ryan got up and going early Saturday to pick up canned goods for a Boy Scout fundraiser. As soon as they returned home it was time for Avery and I to zip on over to EdVenture Children's Museum for a birthday party (Avery's first)!

As soon as we got back from the party, Michael took Ryan to a rollerskating rink for another birthday party. They then had to cut out of the party a little early so they could help set up for a Boy Scout spaghetti dinner fundraiser that night. I brought the three girls over for the spaghetti dinner and then we left to go over to our church for their second "PJ's and a Movie" night. The kids enjoyed the newest Veggie Tales movie and then it was time to put them all to bed.

It was a long day! I am thinking it is just a little taste of what is to come over the next few years. With four kids in school, we'll probably be hitting up birthday parties and group activities multiple times every weekend. I can't wait!

Snow time in the South

It was a week ago today that Ryan's school let out an hour early and a short time later, the snow began to fall. I didn't really think it would stick to the ground, but after awhile it was obvious we were actually going to get a little accumulation.

As it continued falling, the kids enjoyed playing that evening not knowing if it would end and disappear by morning.

Once we got the kids inside, we attempted to make homemade snow cream - yuck! I don't know what I did wrong, but all I can say is that it was not good!

Luckily, Grandma sent the kids some yummy Valentine cookies that they devoured with hot chocolate. Much better!

It was so beautiful that night just watching the snow fall down! The next morning we all woke up early and loaded on the layers so we could spend a little time playing in it before it began melting.
And it didn't take long for the melting to begin. The sun was out in full force and even as we played early in the morning, you could hear the trees dripping as everything melted.

Sisters in the snow...

We built a snowman that quickly had to be relocated into a shadier spot in the yard due to the sun.

It was one of the longest lasting snowmen around our neighborhood. I finally took away the scarf and gloves (added later) yesterday since it had melted into a mini ball of snow.

We all enjoyed the beauty of the day and had fun playing in the stuff while it lasted. But I can honestly say now that we have got to experience a little white stuff this year...bring on Spring!

Valentine's Exchange

Thursday was a big day for Emma and Avery at preschool. They both held Valentine's parties during class and had the chance to exchange Valentines with the other children in their classes.
They brought home gobs of candy as usual and dug in. Nothing like a sugary snack before naptime!

And I got a picture of my three little girly Valentines! Happy Valentine's Day!

Daddy/Daughter Dance

Last Saturday night our Friends of the Lexington Library organization held their 4th annual Father - Daughter dance. It is a fundraiser that helps raise money for the library.

This is the first year Michael attended with Emma and they got dressed up and met up with some friends at the event.

Emma's friend, Morgan, from down the street was there with her dad.

And she had ran into several other friends once there and spent the night dancing away. I would have loved to have been there to watch!

Each little girl brought home a carnation and a professional photo of daughter and daddy.

Michael said they had a great time and next year he'll have two little girls to keep busy dancing between Emma and Avery!

"I love Daddy" day

Today was "I love Daddy" day at the girls' preschool. Each classroom had doughnuts, juice and milk to be enjoyed with the children and their fathers. I thought it was kind of neat that it happened to fall the day after Michael's birthday.

Michael spent a little time in each of the girls' classrooms and Eden and I went along for the ride to keep the other child company during the daddy switch.

The girls made artwork and small gifts to give to their daddy. Emma made this lovely painted rock paperweight shown above...

And Avery made this cute magnet that is now proudly hung on the front of our fridge. I thought her picture was too cute!

LOST is back!

I have mixed feelings about season 6's premiere of Lost beginning tonight. On one hand, I am thrilled my favorite television show is back on, but then I feel like I am going to be depressed with each episode that airs since it is one step closer to the end. Agggh!

I understand that it is pathetic to get so wrapped up in a T.V. show, but that is the way it rolls. We don't watch a lot of T.V. shows, so it will be really sad when this one comes to an end.

Meanwhile...we finally get to learn answers to our burning questions.

Who is Jacob? Who is the Man in the Black?
What is up with time travel?
How does Locke play such a vital role with the island?
What happened to Claire and who will ultimately take care of Aaron?

See, I have a lot to try and figure out. Anybody else a huge Lost fan?

Michael and I didn't get into it from the very beginning. We watched one of those 1 or 2 hour catch-up shows and was hooked from there on, so it is never too late to get on board with Lost!
