Our religious warrior

I have to admit it. I love it when Ryan comes home from CCD (church cathecism) classes on Sunday mornings excited about what he has learned. It amazes me how much information he actually retains.

This morning on the way to school, he was explaining Archangel Gabriel's role as the angel that foretold the birth of John the Baptist and Jesus Christ.

He was especially excited when he came home last Sunday. During his last class, each student made Godly armor including the above pictured crown, shield of faith, and of course the sword. O.K. - I am pretty sure Ryan is probably the only one who insisted on making a sword to go along with his armor but to him, you can't have knightly equipment without the sword.

Besides the most his weapon was possibly going to do to another person is give them a paper cut. And even that is a stretch.

He was so thrilled about his creations he even wore his armor out to lunch that day. It's just our little way of promoting religious education!
