Snow time in the South

It was a week ago today that Ryan's school let out an hour early and a short time later, the snow began to fall. I didn't really think it would stick to the ground, but after awhile it was obvious we were actually going to get a little accumulation.

As it continued falling, the kids enjoyed playing that evening not knowing if it would end and disappear by morning.

Once we got the kids inside, we attempted to make homemade snow cream - yuck! I don't know what I did wrong, but all I can say is that it was not good!

Luckily, Grandma sent the kids some yummy Valentine cookies that they devoured with hot chocolate. Much better!

It was so beautiful that night just watching the snow fall down! The next morning we all woke up early and loaded on the layers so we could spend a little time playing in it before it began melting.
And it didn't take long for the melting to begin. The sun was out in full force and even as we played early in the morning, you could hear the trees dripping as everything melted.

Sisters in the snow...

We built a snowman that quickly had to be relocated into a shadier spot in the yard due to the sun.

It was one of the longest lasting snowmen around our neighborhood. I finally took away the scarf and gloves (added later) yesterday since it had melted into a mini ball of snow.

We all enjoyed the beauty of the day and had fun playing in the stuff while it lasted. But I can honestly say now that we have got to experience a little white stuff this year...bring on Spring!
